Background
Maps are a huge interest of mine—I’ve always been fascinated by what a great design can do to display myriad information in the most efficient way, especially in the context of a map. The London Underground map, originally designed by Harry Beck, is a powerhouse example of clear and efficient information design. This design style has inspired many tributes, currently being used for transit maps in major cities all around the world. For this exploration, I wanted to dig into what Beck’s style could do to showcase Northwest Arkansas’ many places of interest.
