2018 | VMLY&R Rogers, where I interned Summer 2018, focuses on digital, enterprise and ecommerce design. One of their clients, Murphy USA, contracted VMLY&R in 2018 to work on their new user-experience app, Murphy Drive Rewards. As part of this new program, VMLY&R was asked to create a mockup of ad units to be used on a variety of channels.

2018 | VMLY&R Rogers, where I interned Summer 2018, focuses its efforts on digital, enterprise, and ecommerce work. In 2018 The Hershey Company hired VMLY&R, contracting us to lay out several PDPs (Product Display Pages) for use in ecommerce for Amazon and Walmart.com.

The following are examples of ad units and elements laid out by myself and the rest of the Hershey’s VML team. Brands include Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bar, Hershey’s Cookie-Layer Crunch, Hershey’s Multibrand Packs and Krave Jerky. Assets for these units were provided, for the most part, by The Hershey Company. Where they were not, I worked with branding and style guides to create something that would appropriately fit with each brand.

As part of this package, VMLY&R signed on to create a Retail Platform Overview and Style Guide, highlighting correct practices and strategies in ecommerce. One of my responsibilities as an intern was to support the VMLY&R Hershey team working alongside other staffed designers to address client requests and meet tight-turn deadlines in creating this digital document.

2017 | According to their website, Enactus (Entrepreneurship in Action) is an international non-profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills needed to become socially responsible business leaders. Participating students form teams on their university campuses and apply business concepts to develop outreach projects that improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need. They then present those business concepts at competitions on the regional, national and even world levels.

In 2017, as I was serving as the JBU Enactus VP of Marketing, our team placed first at the national competition and won $10,000.

The following print piece showcases the advertising and marketing efforts used to drive students to join JBU Enactus. It was sourced to a local printer and featured original photography and design.

One of my responsibilities as VP of Marketing was visual development for the Enactus national competition, which JBU competed in annually. In 2017, we focused on three of our projects—The Water Project, which had just finished developing a clean water system in rural Guatemala; Yellow Crate, a mobile app focused on resolving food insecurity in Northwest Arkansas; and Shredify, a partnership between a local adult development center and a shredding company, for the purpose of creating valuable work for adults with learning disabilities. My task was to visualize all three efforts in a presentation deck we could use for competition.

This preparation culminated in advancement to the final round of the national competition in Kansas City. With our final presentation, Enactus JBU trumped over 400 other teams in the U.S. to become the national champions.
